Coldplay in Manila 2017

I know, I know! It’s months and months before the much awaited Coldplay concert here in the Philippines. It’s April 4, 2017 to be exact and to be held at the MoA Concert Grounds, Pasay City. And my friends cannot shut up about it. Because, why the hell not? IT’S THE FREAKING COLDPLAY AND WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THEM FOR SO LONG ALREADY!!! *deep breathing* Okay, I’m calmed down now.

Coldplay has been on everyone’s playlist. And their songs has been everyone’s themesong in almost every aspect of their lives. From everyone’s favorite that is Yellow, to the heart-breaking/heart-warming Fix You, to everybody’s Hymn For The Weekend, every song is relatable to every part of people’s lives. It seems that these guys knows just what to say, and put in the right words that us, mundanes, cannot say.
Earlier this year, it was rumored that they are going to play in the Philippines at around this month. Everyone is waiting and anticipating for the official announcements from the guys who are going to bring them (hello, Globe) but nothing came out. And so the people started losing hope. But as the year is approaching to a finish, news finally came! All set and confirmed, Philippines is one of the stops of Coldplay for their A Head Full of Dreams Tour, along with Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and Japan for their Asian tour. And as the news broke out, questions about the ticket price and venue also came out. People panicked and pre-sales of ticket opened. Ticket prices comparison also came out and prices between the Philippine venue versus the prices for Singapore and Korean venues became an issue. Because it is! Singapore and Korean ticket prices is cheaper than Philippine ticket prices. People are posting and asking why it is much expensive here. Which is true. It’s really unacceptable that the Philippine ticket price is much expensive than SG and Korea.

Here are the computations made:

But, if you are going to think of it, even if those two countries have cheaper ticket prices, nothing can beat the Manila crowd. If you are going to read all the comments by the international artists that visited the country, only one thing is common; that the Philippine crowd is the best crowd there is. Y’all have to admit that. Filipinos have this unique way of showing their love and enthusiasm for the artists they love. What more now that Coldplay is finally here to arrive! Everyone is waiting for this guys and everyone will go out of their way just to see and hear them play live.

BUT! Even if the Philippine ticket is sky-rocket high, I will still watch Coldplay here. Anyway, I won’t be buying the VIP tickets, maybe I’ll get the Gen Ad or Bronze ticket. Why? For me, what important is to feel their presence, be with my friends and enjoy the show.
